Symposium: ECONOMY IN TRANSITION
How do we design social and economic change?

Symposium organized by the Council for a 21st Century Progressive Economy

There is hardly any concept as vague and ubiquitous as “digitalization.” But what exactly does this catchphrase mean? The Council for a 21st Century Progressive is getting to the bottom of this and other questions. Their focus is not limited to buzzwords hyped in the media like 4.0, robots, Google cars, or the Internet of Things; instead they turn their attention to socially relevant questions: How are these technological opportunities changing our social and economic fabric? Which social and economic conditions are necessary to make these changes socially acceptable?

Digitalization, robotization, and artificial intelligence will be explored in depth and from various angles: from the organization of work, the financing of society, and education in times of artificial intelligence to the ethical issues of human-robot interaction. The Council for a 21st Century Progressive Economy will present its resolution on these topics and discuss it with experts from Austria and abroad.

2 p.m.: Guided tour of the exhibition Hello, Robot. Design between Human and Machine

This event is a cooperation between the Council for a 21st Century Progressive Economy and the MAK as part of the VIENNA BIENNALE 2017: Robots. Work. Our Future.
